In the mid-nineteenth century, there were numerous legends among hunting enthusiasts about the optimal hunting dog. The Greyhound, nicknamed Snooker, developed such speed that the hunted object had no chance of escape. The price of puppies from this dog was considerable. However, the nickname Snooker was not limited to hunters. There are records in the press that mention numerous other dogs of different breeds that responded to this billiard moniker.
