UNEXPECTED APPEARANCE AT DURRINGTON CONCERT.
Considerable amusement was caused at a concert at Durrington on Wednesday by the unexpected “turn” provided by a large moth which appeared—not, it is to be hoped, from a purse!—during the singing of a group of songs. The moth passed in front of the face of the singer, who, however, did not flinch.
The concert was given in the Durrington Church Institute by members of the Music Makers Club, under the direction of Miss D. W. Danby (L.R.A.M., Gold Medal I.L.A.M.), of Worthing. The items which provoked most applause were the concerted songs in costume. They were “Johnnie Snooker’s Band,” ” The Tragedy of Cock Robin” and an amusing country song, “Old John Braddleum.” …
