Wages Claim. —Edward Garner, 119, High-road, Wembley, was summoned by William Snooker, 12, Alric-avenue, Harlesden, for £3 19s., in respect of wages. —Complainant gave evidence at the last hearing to the effect that he did not give notice and was not given notice. —The complainant, cross-examined by Mr. Walter Martin, for the defence, said defendant never complained of witness’s work. He had not told Mr. Garner to go into the bakehouse and do the work himself. —Frederick Jenner, 35, Cleveland-gardens, Barnes, another employes, said he heard defendant say to Snooker, “I have not sacked you, but you can carry on.” Snooker said, “I will carry on for a week or so to see how things go.” The following Saturday Garner said.” I have sacked Snooker.”—Defendant in the box, said he asked Snooker whether he would get on with the work or whether he (witness) should do the work. Complainant said he would carry on for the week, which witness took as notice. — Mrs. Garner gave similar evidence. John Hossack, journeyman baker, also gave evidence. —The Bench found for Snooker, but allowed no costs. Mr. Martin applied for the costs of the adjournment, but the Bench would not grant the application.
