Charles and Snooker
The Era, Wednesday 26 December 1923
Metropolitan amusement seekers will learn with regret that, owing to the expiration of the lease, the World’s Fair, which opened its six weeks’ season at the Agricultural Hall, will come to an end at the end of that period. The present show is in no way inferior to its predecessors, however, and in some respects is, indeed, superior. The first innovation that strikes the visitor is the removal of the circus arena to the extreme end of the hall, which is an immense improvement. Professor Swallow is responsible for this entertainment, the clever artists appearing under his direction being selected from Headton and Durban, comedy barrel jumpers; bare backed trick act, by Mons. Charles; The Two Remas, musical entertainers; Brothers Fossett; The Serlany Troupe, gymnastic speciality; Claude Fossett; Miss Marti and Mons. Walker, in a double globe act; J. Swallow’s Liberty Horses; Charles and Snooker, in a gymnastic display; Ohmy and Fillis; Miss Frederica’s Comedy Terriers; and the Five Flying Albertys. Performing elephants and comic entries by the clowns complete a good bill.
