A sporting life
By A.A. Thomson
<…>
When the very virile vicar’s not a-viccing,
He finds a pious restfulness at loo;
At snooker he can give the squire a licking,
And blushes pink whene’er he pots the blue.
Though for a peaceful life he’ll ever hanker
And normally is quiet as a mouse,
He waxes militant at Crown and Anchor,
And vents his matchless eloquence at House.
