American snooker
Sydenham, Forest Hill & Penge Gazette, Friday 02 February 1917
On the right of the entrance hall in a large general room, in which concerts and social gatherings take place, as well as games at bagatelle. On the left is a comfortable billiard-room, with a full-sized table, which is at present being used for a special tournament for the game known as American snooker. On the same floor stands the canteen, and this also presents an attractive appearance. Mounting the stair case on the right will be found the officers’ quarters, with a cosy messroom, nicely furnished, and which contains a miniature armoury, including a German bayonet and leather belt captured in the fighting on the River Ancre.
