SOCIAL GATHERING

At New Beddington School.

The first social event of the Ladymount Preparatory School, Beddington. took place on Saturday, when Miss O’Connor received her pupils and their parents at a garden party.

The children drilled and played a few team games on the tennis court and tea was served on the lawn. The girls of the Upper Fourth Form from Pollards Hill High School waited attentively on the guests, among whom were some of Miss O’Connor’s old pupils. This happy informal little gathering dispersed after the elocution pupils had given a short play called “The Old Arm-chair.” The cast was: The Elf, Peter Coveney; the Armchair, Peter Linzell; Mrs. Modger, Nita McConnell; Mr. Snooker, David McKenzie.
