Miss Margaret Quinn, the thirteen-year-old holder of the women’s snooker championship, will this week be called upon to oppose Mrs. Victoria McDougall (Paddington) in defence of her title at Soho-square, London.
Mrs. McDougall is the mother of Miss Helen McDougall, the girl billiards champion, who in turn is three years older than Miss Quinn.
The snooker championship starts to-day, and the draw for play is: —
Preliminary round: Miss Hawkins (Birmingham) v. Miss Ballantine (Bournemouth).
First round: Miss Van Noorden (London) v. Miss Hawkins or Miss Ballantine: Mrs. Kirby (Bournemouth) v. Mrs. Wilson (Stratford-on-Avon); Miss Margaret Quinn (Peckham) v. Mrs. McDougall (Paddington); Mrs. Morland Smith (Bournemouth) v. Mrs. Ella Morris (Cardiff).
