Snooker! snooker!

“Snooker! snooker!” Why do these gentlemen in the back seats forever insist upon calling out “snooker,” when the stage manager, or rather musical director, at the Mechanics’ Institute concerts makes his appearance either to shift the piano or to turn the leaves of the music for the pianiste? The audience keenly appreciated the committee’s efforts on Thursday evening last, for the entertainment was of the highest order.
