CONSERVATIVE CLUB.
There was an interesting little ceremony at Romsey Working Men’s Conservative Club on Saturday evening, when the prizes won in the various competitions and promoted by the games committee of the club were presented to the successful competitors. The winners were: Snooker—1. Mr. Higgins; 2. Mr. Shaw. Whist—1. Messrs. Longman, sen., and Longman, jun.; 2. Mr. S. Ward and Mr. Denman. The presentations were made by Mr. H. C. Ashman, who also handed a gift subscribed for by the members to the Steward and Stewardess. On the proposition of Mr. A. Goddard, seconded by Mr. Beak, a vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Ashman. Mr. A. H. F. Fish, who presided, wished the members a prosperous New Year.
