Sanctioned Trial

Dogs entering competitions will be assigned to categories relating to their experience, age, and height. The AKC requires dogs to be 1½ years old before being eligible to enter a Sanctioned Trial. Most people who want to enter a Sanctioned Trial will enroll their dog in classes sponsored by the particular club. There are different types of courses that could be used, ranging from Standard Agility through more specialized courses such as Snookers, Jackpot, Teams, and Relay. These latter all offer more challenging obstacles for the dog.
