Town Council.—A meeting of this council was held on Thursday, there being present:—The Mayor (Mr. Tucker), Aldermen Bemister, Druitt, Newlyn and King, Messrs. Burt, Aldridge, Marshall, Lane, Preston, Snooker, Pope, and Davis.—A letter was read from the New Forest Association, asking the council to forward a petition to the Houses of Lords and Commons in support of the Bill to exempt the New Forest from the provisions of the Ranges Act of 1891.
