OLD GAMES WILL GET NEW SLANT
Old games are being given a new twist in an indoor games competition organised by Uttlesford District Youth Service.
The five-part contest is open to all registered youth clubs in the Uttlesford district. Saffron Walden Youth Club, which is based at the Fairycroft youth centre, is among the clubs that have entered.
“About 20 of our members will be taking part in the five events,” said the warden of Saffron Walden youth centre, Mr. David Grandin.
The fun and games get under way on Thursday at Stansted youth centre, where there will be a “named shot” snooker competition — the player has to name the shot e is going for in advance — and “ten-ball snooker.”
