Horse. Snooker. Referee (Sydney), Wednesday 18 November 1914
An action against Mr. J. Wren for the recovery of a stake won by a horse named Snooker ended last week in a verdict for the defendant. That gelding had been disqualified under V.R.C. rules, and his two owners ran him at Richmond without giving his correct history. On finding out that Snooker was ineligible under the rules, Mr. A. J. Gray did not hand over the stake won by Snooker, and paid it to the owner of the second horse instead. Hence the court case.
