Racing notes. Windsor.
Liverpool Mercury, Friday 14 August 1903
Racing will be resumed in the southern circuit to-day at Windsor, where a capital programme has been arranged. Sport has not been of much note since Goodwood, and, with most people away on the moors or at the seaside, racing during this month in more or less of a holiday character. Much depends upon the morning arrivals, for the bulk of the Berkshire, horses can get there with ease in the morning. Half-a-dozen items make up the bill of fare, and leaving the overnight affair, the Romney Handicap, to be dealt with by post speculators, I pass on to the Castle Handicap, which may be won by Child wick bury. I like the chance of Hartfield in the Forest Handicap, and in the Manor Maiden Plate Orme’s Bay ought to be seen to advantage. The Club Two-year-old Plate looks well for Cragthorne, and in the Clewer Plate Snooker, with a run, has a chance, further comment is not necessary, as much depends upon what turns up in the morning.
