Nobody else moves. The other house surgeons and physicians silently congratulate themselves on being left at peace, and the lesser fry of unqualified men who are there as “dressers” and what-not, are not yet required to bestir themselves, and are happy. “Shop” has been dropped, and the table has turned to “snooker pool.”
