Snooker, an aged chestnut gelding by Wanderer, was selected as the good thing for the final bout of the day, the Hunters’ Trial Steeplechase, but the best he could do at the finish was to get second to Waimotu, a Te Mahanga-bred gelding by Torpedo—Ua, who was running in the interests of M H. Hassall.
