Having a Change
Nelson Leader, Friday 28 June 1929
Temporarily tiring of billiards, the members of the Liberal Club have revived an old game that used to be popular many years ago. This is known as “shell out” a game something on the lines of snooker, only much more simple. Mr. J. W. Haworth, known to his club friends as “Steamboat Bill,” is yet the cleverest exponent, and is having some very cheap games at the expense of those who “take him on.” Bill is a deadly “potter” and can put them down with “clogs on” every time.
