Interesting variation to pyramids or snooker pool
London Evening Standard, Tuesday 09 February 1915
In the match of 8000 up at Thurston’s, between G. Gray and T. Newman (receives 600), the closing scores yesterday were:—Newman (in play), 1720; Gray, 1002.
Following yesterday afternoon’s play at Thurston’s, George Gray and Thomas Newman gave an exhibition of a new game of pyramids. A black ball on the centre spot has to be potted after each red ball, an interesting variation to the other kinds of pyramids or snooker pool.
Melbourne Inman, the English champion is expected home from America about the middle of March. He will play a few games in London before the end of the season.
