I always thought “snooker” was a game, but I now find it to be the Woolwich synonym for “freshman.” This unfortunate has, I hear, been subjected to “ragging” of late, but owing to the long vacation the authorities are taking no action. They would no doubt have taken the cue had it not been for the long rest.
