Human snooker
Haslingden Gazette, Saturday 25 September 1909
Variegated colours are even more practicable than numbers, since the latter, being either on back or front, are not discoverable until the player turns round. This would give the field the appearance of a sort of human snooker, but the suggested details are purely tentative.
