LADIES’ PRIZES

… A party of local gentlemen were responsible for the judging, and their awards were favourably commented upon. In some instances, however, they had considerable difficulty in deciding upon the winner, so meritorious were the costumes in several of the classes.
The awards were as fellows:—

Best original costume (silver-plated egg stand): Miss Gregory Jackson (Hinckley), as “Snooker.”
Best comic costume (silver-plated rose bowl): Miss Ethel Cantrill (Nuneaton), as “The Enthusiastic Beginner.” …
