Hastings and St Leonards Observer, Saturday 22 January 1927
COSTLY SNOOKER.
Robert Edward Philp was also fined 5s. for leaving his car unlighted outside the East Sussex Club, Warrior-square, on the evening of January 8th.—Defendant pleaded guilty, and said he was inveigled into a game of “snooker” at the Club. He played very badly, and had to concentrate so much that he forgot all about the car until 5.20. Then he called down to the club steward, and told him to go out and switch on the lights. The club steward replied: “Too late, sir!”
