Woolwich “snooker”

THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A GUNNER.
It is a pity that the author of “Gunner Jingo’s Jubilee” (Remington and Co.) should have slightly marred a readable and interesting work by giving too frequent and elaborate expression to the sense of injustice under which he is labouring. This fault, together with great carelessness in the revision of the text, constitute the only serious blots. The volume, well illustrated by the author, is practically an autobiography, in which, under various aliases, he traces an adventurous career from a Woolwich “snooker” to that of a retired general officer.
