Lessons in “snooker pool” and similar mysteries

“GETTING ON.”
A pleasant story is told by “Electricity” of the experiences of a young electrician sent out by a London firm to fix motors in an uncivilised land; After six months the motors had not come to hand, but the young man wrote that he was getting on all right. The local monarch having found out that he played billiards, was incessantly taking lessons in “snooker pool” and similar mysteries. The young fellow writes that he and the sovereign are “capital pals,” and he has been installed in excellent quarters by his new employer. His stud of riding horses is most complete, and altogether it is evident that that boiler is going to take an exceedingly long time to get up steam.
