They call me Billiard Cue
Essex Newsman, Saturday 24 December 1927
The great winter indoor game of billiards is in full swing, and, judging by the activity at the clubs, is more popular than ever, especially snooker pool. A young marker in a club had some leg-pulling. One of the catch questions put to him was, “What does a billiard ball do when it stops rolling?” He was puzzled until the answer was given, “It looks round.” Another boy, a smart one, too, on being asked his name by a patron of the table, replied, “They call me Billiard Cue.” “Why is that?” The answer came, “Because I work so much better with a good tip, sir.”
