Miss Snooker, who is in charge of the candidates
Eckington, Woodhouse and Staveley Express, Saturday 06 October, 1928
Miss Snooker, who is in charge of the candidates thanked Mrs. Atkin for coming over to Woodhouse to help them, also the vicar for so kindly helping the little ones in spiritual matters. Miss Snooker said she could not help passing on to the assembly a beautiful experience she had on Tuesday evening. On entering church, a delightful scene met her eyes. The chancel only was lit and a row of title girls on each side of the choir stalls with the vicar at the litany stool were murmuring their players to God. Miss Snooker said she also wished to thank Miss Lilian Anderson who had been a great help with the young ones. Although living a long distance from the school Miss Anderson had attended each meeting since she herself was a candidate, giving every assistance to Miss Snooker and Miss Jenkins.
