Bowling of Badcock and Snooker
Dundee Evening Telegraph, Monday 05 August 1907
DERBYSHIRE V. HAMPSHIRE.
Between two and three thousand people witnessed the commencement of this match at Derby to-day, the weather being fine, though none too promising. The wicket had not recovered from the tremendous soaking it had received on Friday night, and was still on the soft side. The Derbyshire eleven had been strengthened by the inclusion of Lawton, Morton, and Bestwick, for whom Carlin, Slater, and Cooper stood down. On the Hants’ side Hill was the most notable absentee. Derbyshire won the toss, and commenced batting with Wright and Ollivierre to the bowling of Badcock and Snooker. At 18 Wright was bowled by a plain straight ball.
