Here Mr. Richard Martindale rendered eminent service, by getting the rest of the hounds forward to the plainer ground on Little Harterfell, where the run wan continued to Settle Earth, and on to Snooker Gill, at which place the Buckbarrow hero once more displayed his cunning by ascending to the top of Goat Scaur by the bed of the stream.
