A Parliamentary Snooker
Croydon Times, Saturday 25 December 1920
The Concert.
A delightful programme of vocal and instrumental music was carried out under the direction of Mr. David Smith. The humorous element was particularly well sustained. Mr. Mike Ewan was well received in “A Conformation Party” and “Hebrewisms” and Mr. Will Deller scored in “A Parliamentary Snooker.” Miss Winifred Mansfield sang with charming effect “An English Song,” and Miss Lilian Brian showed much skill in a concertina solo, “The Bells.” Mr. David Smith was quite at home in “Devon for me,” and Miss Mollie Mercer scored immensely in a song, “A Builder and Matilda.” The other selections by the performers were also very heartily received, and a word of praise must be added for Mr. A. Clare Palace, who did splendid service at the piano.
