Is this “Snooker” or “Bumble snooker?”
Civil & Military Gazette (Lahore), Friday 04 November 1887
Query.
Sir,—They were playing “Snooker.” A pocketed a red ball in ordinary course of play, then playing at the black he hit it, but instead of pocketing it he “planted” another red ball, then pocketed the black, when B claimed that according to the game of the club, A must pocket a colored ball before a second red, and claimed that A should pay one all round instead of scoring six all told all round with an option of more. A gives in, but appeals to you as he said he would. Is this “Snooker” or “Bumble snooker?”
