Dainty Billiards

Those little runs of close-cannons you see the professional billiard-player so readily and delicately tip ! tap ! shot after shot, along by the cushion, with the balls moving ever so small a distance. They look what they really are: the absolute refinement of the play. Yet there is no stroke one may set up on the billiard table calling for a nicer combination of skill and knowledge. It is always possible for the tiniest of faults to spoil the very important position for the next stroke, even though the cannon itself is scored.
