There is a certain game played on the billiard table, of which the name follows.

Here in Cairo it has become more or less popular. The other day, while the game was in progress on a certain table, a couple of citizens of the United States, both expert pool players, came in to look on.

After watching in silence, in awe-struck silence, they called the marker, and said to him, “Say, marker, what game is this, anyway? “

The marker replied, “Australian Snooker, gentlemen.”

They gazed a little longer, still in awe-struck silence, and then said, “ Marker, are the people who play such a game as this in their right mind? ”
